Able Futures highlights importance of workplace wellbeing at 2026 Small Business Sunday event

Able Futures showcased its commitment to improving mental wellbeing in workplaces across the UK as it joined hundreds of entrepreneurs at the 2026 Small Business Sunday (#SBS) event at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre (ICC). Able Futures support through the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, providing free, confidential mental health support.

Held on 20th February, SBS marked the 16th year of the SBS initiative and its 13th annual event. Small Business Sunday founder Theo Paphitis hosted the event, with the 2026 the theme on “Resilience Rocks!”, which celebrated the adaptability of small businesses in an ever‑changing economic landscape.

The team spent the day connecting with small business owners, highlighting its no‑cost, confidential support available to employers and employees experiencing mental health challenges. The service aims to boost personal wellbeing, enhance productivity and strengthen workplace resilience, a core message that resonated with many attendees.

The atmosphere at the ICC was filled with creativity, determination and community spirit, hallmarks of the SBS network and values strongly aligned with Able Futures’ mission. With more than 1,000 people attending, over 1,700 social posts tagged about the event, and 100% of participants saying they would recommend it to other small businesses, overall sentiment was overwhelmingly positive.

Debbie Burns, Business Account Manager for Able Futures, said: “A huge thank you to the entire SBS community for the warm welcome. It’s inspiring to see just how much resilience truly does rock when small businesses support one another and champion the importance of mental wellbeing.”

Able Futures continues to support small businesses across the UK and remains committed to helping individuals access personalised mental‑health support through the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service.
